A serious crash on Highway 401 in Whitby has claimed multiple lives, according to Durham police. The incident occurred reportedly after a vehicle involved in a police pursuit fled from officers. The crash resulted in a fiery collision, leading to the deaths of two individuals.
Ongoing Investigation
The Ontario Provincial Police are currently investigating the incident. One driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of the three-vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday morning. Two other individuals were transported to hospital with injuries, one of whom is in serious condition. A separate crash in Scarborough on Sunday morning also resulted in injuries.
